So…I moved back to Long Island yesterday and I am beyond happy about it. Unlike many of my peers, I freaking love this place. But now, half my life is on the floor in my garage.

For the past few years that I’ve been selling my jewelry online and simultaneously being in college, it’s been difficult trying to manage my business. I would get orders on say, a Monday and since all my stock and supplies would be at home, I’d have to make the customer wait until that weekend for their order to be shipped. It just felt like terrible customer service, but there was nothing I could do. I didn’t want to have to put my shop on vacation for months or weeks at a time.

I’m moving back to Long Island from New York City, willingly, on Saturday and I’m excited about it for multiple reasons. One of these reasons is that, as indicated in the title of this post, I can finally run my business on Etsy for real. Yay!

It’s getting warm now. Anklets, anyone?

Reasons I love Long Island

I was born and raised on Long Island. I am not going to tell you the specific town I live in because that is too personal. I did go to college in New Jersey but I will never leave New York again.

Most of my family (the family that I love) lives on Long Island.

No matter where you are on the island, you can always find a beach.

The pizza and bagels are super tasty.

I am just a train ride away from the greatest city in the world.

We experience all the seasons.

Billy Joel was raised on Long Island.

I don’t have to travel far to go somewhere (example the mall or the movie theater).

Everyone outside of Long Island thinks that you are rich.

I had a wonderful fun childhood.

I got an great education (K-12).

I live in a safe middle class town.

Summers on the island.

There are so many other reasons but I can’t think of them right now. If you have your reasons why, you can add them or let me know.
